Skirball Cultural Center | Wedding

marciaperel

Cool modern aesthetic, perfectly manicured landscaping, gorgeous light, lily pond, + one beautiful couple. It all came together for a very memorable evening.

Makena and Daniel had another venue booked for their wedding. A few weeks before and as luck would have it, mere HOURS before the appointment to finalize the invitations, the original venue called and cancelled. CANCELLED! So was this their 2nd choice? Technically, yes.

Did it work out BETTER than the original? 100% YES!

Let's chat about the first look. They opted NOT to have one. Photographers LOVE a bride/groom first look.... for so many reasons.

BUT

when (1) you wear the dress that your mom married your dad in (2) you create a dramatic entrance from the balcony above the ceremony space (thanks Skirball!) and

(3) your 96 year young grandfather meets you at the end of the aisle to walk you the rest of the way... well, I get it.

Weddings are ALL about MOMENTS and I am here for it!

(scroll through below).

Did I mention she wore her mom's wedding dress? Sooooo special.

These locations are two of my favorite - the pathway

and the columns by the pond.

Having your squad by your side is the best.

And the boys cleaned up nicely too!

The day goes by so fast it's hard to believe.

Vows/rings/kiss, Married!

An elegant dinner and dancing await on the courtyard

But first, a few post-ceremony couple portraits during cocktail hour

(remember the no-first-look thing).

Introducing for the first time...

For their first dance as husband and wife

And of course the Hora!

It's the sweetest things (scroll through)

And a good dose of FUN!

Lily pond reflecting string lighting and stars = magical night

Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness & for your reality to exceed your expectations, much like this day was. XOXO
